Therapy isn’t scary when you know what to expect.

Having your own map is more powerful than having someone else’s directions. Once you have that map, you’ll always have a way to go from where you are to where you want to go.

First time?
Here’s How it works:

  1. Ontario residents, schedule your optional free 15-minute client consultation - you can click here to schedule.

  2. You’ll be asked to answer a few simple questions before our call.

  3. I’ll find out what brings you to therapy and to see if we are a good fit. While allowing you the space to ask me any initial questions you may have.

  4. If we decide to proceed, we’ll schedule your first session.

  5. You’ll receive an intake form through the secure client portal. Just be sure to complete and sign before our first session.

  6. We have our first scheduled appointment and begin your journey to health.
You’re on your way back to joy!

Our therapy process begins.

During the first session, we'll review your paperwork. I'll answer any questions you have. I’ll also give you some tangible tools to use right away related to any concerns you mentioned in the intake form. Then we’ll go over any goals you have and schedule your next appointment.

What’s next?

It’s okay to be unsure.

The first few sessions are about getting to know each other.

This is when we create and clarify your goals. We’ll work together so we can stay clear and grounded in our work - so you can progress towards your healing and joy.

Once we decide where to focus, I’ll guide you through - sometimes difficult - sessions, according to your comfort level. I will provide you with tangible tools to use immediately while we dig deeper into the roots and reasons that brought you to seek to therapy.

Life is always changing. So, even though we’ll have specific goals to work towards, there will be regular check-ins that might change the course of a session or the overall plan and we’ll adjust the sessions as necessary.

Therapy looks different for everyone.

Although I have a full toolbox of therapy tools from which to pull, as well as a deep understanding of very effective therapy techniques, the path we take in counselling will be unique to you. I will promise you that my approach is empathetic and compassionate.

The most important part of therapy is allowing yourself to open to the experience and trust the process. You’ll start to get better at identifying and listening to your own needs and desires along the way. Working through therapy is like building any muscle - it improves the more you practice using it.

My hope is that you will gain new coping tools, a deeper sense of self-confidence, as well as compassion towards yourself as you begin to understand your unique situation. This will take some time and practice. We all progress differently - I will never judge you or shame you for progressing at your own speed.

when our work is done.

How will we know when we’re done?

Treatment will end when the time feels right for you. There is no one-size fits all model. Once you feel your goals are met, we can end our regularly-scheduled appointments.

check-ins to stay on track.

After our regular sessions are done, you can book appointments as needed if you feel like you need help staying on track. I care deeply, and am always available for follow-ups to help you stay focused, calm, and joyful.
